Black Clay Bowl

$45

Made by hand from a small village in the Colombian region of the Andes.

Here the native Andean black clay is molded, trimmed and smoothed by hand into its final form as tableware.  The shaped clay is then coated with a fine terracotta glaze, and is left to dry in the sun.

This handmade artisanal craftsmanship is passed down from mother to daughter over generations and relies on the climate and sun exposure throughout the seasons to cure and harden these pieces.

Each Something Special bowl is supporting the economy of 300 families of artisans in the Andes region of Colombia.

Now available in a tiny batch.
